Oglethorpe County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or has been released, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record or photograph. Contact the government custodian directly for those matters.
Where to Request Oglethorpe Records
The Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office is the first stop for county jail custody, admission, booking, and open-records questions. Use the official contact details below. No sheriff-specific booking-record or photograph fee is posted, so ask the custodian for an estimate under Georgia’s Open Records rules.
Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office
115 Buddy Faust Road
Crawford, GA 30630
706-743-8101
General: info@oglethorpesheriff.org
Open records: openrecords@oglethorpesheriff.org
Administrative office and records: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Jail and 911 operate continuously.
Online messages are not monitored around the clock, and OCSO asks for a full business day for an ordinary response. When calling 706-743-8101, option 1 reaches the jail, option 2 reaches jail medical, option 3 reaches non-emergency dispatch, option 4 handles open records and the sex-offender registry, and option 5 handles incident and accident reports.
Use the following route based on the record or custody question:
- For a county booking record or original booking photograph, start with the Oglethorpe County roster and records page. For an older or missing online entry, write to the open-records unit with the person’s full name, approximate booking date, and booking number if known.
- For present county custody, select Current Confinements in the official search. For a new admission, use Last 24 Hour Admits or Last 7 Days Admits. Those views record admissions and do not promise that a person remains in custody.
- For a case outcome after booking, use the Oglethorpe Clerk of Superior Court and the Georgia Courts e-access directory. The Superior Clerk’s phone is 706-743-5731. Magistrate Court, which issues warrants and conducts hearings, is at 706-743-8321. Probate Court’s traffic-citation line is 706-743-5350.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search. A GDC profile is a state-custody record, not a county booking search.
- For federal custody, check the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For immigration custody, use the ICE detainee locator only when an ICE or CBP transfer is genuinely involved.
- For records held by a city, use the real city route described on the Crawford, Arnoldsville, or Lexington page. A city clerk holds city records, not automatically an OCSO jail booking file.
- For custody notifications, statewide VINE and OCSO’s CodeRED alerts serve different purposes. CodeRED is for emergency and community notices, not booking cards or photographs.
