Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes what Oglethorpe County Busted Mugshots receives from visitors, what may be collected automatically, how the information is used, and when it may be shared. Using the site means accepting these practices.

Information You Send

Search Requests

A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Oglethorpe County Busted Mugshots does not store or keep a log of those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Submissions

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply details are kept as needed to answer it and keep a basic record of the exchange. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data and Cookies

Normal page requests can produce basic technical details. These details help the service work and help diagnose faults:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on each page
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • Request date and time stamps

Cookies

Cookies may be used to understand how visitors use the pages or to support a feature. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Some parts of the service may work differently when cookies are blocked.

How Collected Data Is Used

Information is used for ordinary service and business purposes, including:

  • Keeping the pages available and responsive
  • Sending search requests to the appropriate partner tool
  • Learning which pages visitors find useful
  • Finding errors and fixing technical problems
  • Showing advertising that may relate to visitor interests

Links and Advertising

Pages may link to the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office jail roster, the sheriff’s contact and records page, Georgia Courts portals, the Georgia Department of Corrections search, and outside research tools. Once a visitor leaves this service, the destination’s privacy notice and data practices apply.

Some advertising partners may use their own systems to observe activity across different websites for interest-based advertising. That tracking occurs on the partner’s systems, not under this notice’s control.

Who May Receive Information

Personal information is not sold. Depending on how a visitor uses the service, information may be handled by these parties:

  • Search partners that process words entered into their tools
  • Analytics providers that measure page use
  • Advertising networks and their service providers
  • Law enforcement or another government body responding to a valid legal order

Security Efforts

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under the service’s control. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, so Oglethorpe County Busted Mugshots cannot promise that data will never be accessed, lost, or exposed.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us page to ask that it be deleted.

Your Data Choices

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks, a visitor may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal data held by this service
  • Correct information that is inaccurate
  • Delete information that the service is not required to keep
  • Opt out of certain processing, such as optional analytics or advertising where that choice is available

Requests can be sent through Contact Us. A search partner, analytics provider, or ad network may need to receive a separate request because it controls its own data.

Changes to This Notice

This Privacy Notice may be revised when the service, its tools, or its legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here and will identify a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply from that date forward.
